Meet Our Team
Our focus is your care and comfort. Our team is committed to providing you with quality individualized treatment and compassionate care. We have great respect for each other's experience and training, work closely in a team environment, and are sensitive to everyone's needs. It takes special people to create a place where you want to be treated. The collaboration and chemistry between our nurses, support staff, and the physicians on our medical team is a high priority for us.
Our team is a multidisciplinary mix of all the specialists on our medical staff, along with nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and support and administrative members. Our culture is one of unity, where each person on our staff is an equal member of the team and is treated with the respect he or she deserves. We select each team member carefully for his or her passion, sensitivity, expertise, knowledge, and patient focus. Our team members not only focus on your care but are involved in advancing the diagnoses and treatments of heart and vascular medicine through research and innovative technologies.
The teams at Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital – Dallas and Fort Worth are committed to the mission of giving back to the community by providing health screenings and preventive health education. Community outreach also means informing and educating the broader community and identifying neighborhoods in need. It also leads to collaboration with civic organizations, city government departments and churches who strive to help improve community health.
Every three years, Baylor Scott & White Health completes a Community Health Needs Assessment in every region where a Baylor Scott & White facility is located. As part of the Dallas and Fort Worth metropolitan health communities, the assessment reports for Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital guide many of the outreach initiatives for hospital leaders in their respective markets.
The team at Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital remained committed to providing all employees with opportunities to be actively involved in the community.
Community Advisory Council
The Community Advisory Council also provided suggestions to become involved in community organizations.
Community wellness and screening events
Working with area churches and YMCAs, wellness fairs and health screenings were staffed by clinical teams in order to provide heart-healthy information as well as provide blood pressure screenings with education on hypertension. The Watson Health Heart Disease Estimates identified hypertension as the most prevalent heart disease diagnosis in much of the greater service area. With requests from heart-healthy information to screenings, the team at Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital in Dallas and Fort Worth accept opportunities to provide much-needed hypertension education and blood pressure screenings, especially in underserved areas.
A shopping center located in the midst of the Dallas market is home to an enthusiastic group of mall walkers, many of whom are seniors. While not formally organized, the individuals are striving to improve their health and well-being through walking the mall prior to stores opening. Once a week, for two hours on Thursday morning, a small group of clinical team members travels to the shopping center to provide blood pressure screenings, heart health education and to socialize with this group.
The STARRS committee (Services, Training, Accountability, Recruitment, Retention, and Satisfaction) of employees meet regularly to discuss community involvement and requests from various organizations who needed assistance. The committee was also dedicated to reaching out to economically-challenged neighborhoods with heart-healthy information.
