That's why we like to provide you with as much support and guidance about your time here as possible. We also encourage you to call on any of our staff if you have further questions or concerns.
We are located at 621 North Hall Street, between Gaston Avenue and Worth Street, on the campus of the Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas. The main entrance to the hospital is accessible from the intersection of Gaston Avenue and Malcolm X Boulevard. Self parking is available adjacent to the hospital in Lot 19 or Garage 10. Valet parking is avaiable at the hospital's entrance off Junius Street. When you step through the doors of the main entrance, you will find yourself at registration (Access Services) on the ground floor. The ground floor is the bottom floor of the hospital. At Access Services you can check in and receive materials, including room and hospital information and maps. Also on the ground floor are the Baylor Heart and Vascular Institute, the Pilgrim Prayer Room, the Clinical Library, Health Information Services, and A Beat Above Café. If you should arrive after 6:00 p.m., you will need to press the buzzer (located next to every entrance), so that Baylor Security can allow you to enter.
Your physician will talk with you about preparing for your visit, but we generally advise guests to:
Your room is equipped with a bed designed for your comfort and safety as well as a telephone and closet. We will deliver any mail and flowers to you in your patient room. At your prescheduled time, a staff member will escort you to the procedure area and notify any family members of the expected length of your procedure. Once your procedure is complete, you will be taken to the recovery area and your physician will talk with your family in the waiting room. Your vital signs will be monitored every 15 minutes to provide a smooth recovery. Some patients will stay the night with us, while others will leave within a few hours, depending on the procedure and recovery. We have accommodations for one person to spend the night with you in your room. We offer heart-healthy meal options between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., made fresh to order. Guests are welcome to purchase meals for $7 each.
The Walter I. Berman Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation Center (Cardiac Rehab) is located in the Baylor Tom Landry Health and Wellness Center on the third floor, suite 3100.
