Bypass Surgery

Bypass or "open-heart" surgery is performed to repair or replace tissue, muscle, valves or the aorta, the main artery that carries blood away from the heart to the rest of the body, caused by coronary artery disease. A surgeon opens a patient's chest and the heart is stopped to complete these procedures.

Arrhythmia Surgery

The Center for Valve Disorders, a part of Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital – Dallas, provides a comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment plan for patients with any type of valvular heart disease. A multidisciplinary team of interventional cardiologists, noninvasive cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and cardiac imaging specialists combine evidence-based quality with advanced technology to diagnose and treat aortic, mitral, pulmonic, and tricuspid valve disease.
